If you've ever seen the movie the Polar Express and wondered how they made the motion so fluid, it’s because they made use of motion capturing. Motion capture makes use of  real human movements which are then translated to an animated character or 3d model. As an animator myself, I always found difficulty in bringing life to a character and always wondered if I could make use of myself and a computer do the hard work.

For this experiment, I wrote software that locates colored strips of paper that correspond to different joints on both my body and the animated body. By using this information, I was able to control the animated body with my body.
